Abacus Practice: Privacy Policy
Abacus Practice ("the app") is made by AeroFluxStudio (India) ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. The app is made for children to practise abacus and mental maths, with a parent area for grown-ups.
In short
- There are no accounts and no sign-in. We never ask for a child's full name, email, phone number, photo, school or location.
- Children's nicknames and practice results are stored on the phone.
- If a parent buys a plan, a copy is also saved on our server so it can move to a new phone. The parent can delete it at any time.
- Payments go through Google Play. We never see card or UPI details.
- During the 14 free days, the app shows child-safe ads from Google AdMob. They are never personalised and never use the advertising ID. Subscribers see no ads.
- We do not sell or rent anyone's information.
1. Information on the phone
When a parent or child adds a profile, the app stores a first name or nickname, an avatar picture chosen from the app, and a level. As the child practises, the app stores results: questions answered, right and wrong answers, time taken, dates, points, streaks and badges. It also stores settings (sounds, voice, vibration, theme) and the date the app was first opened, to count the 14 free days.
This information stays in the app's private storage on the phone. Android may include it in the phone's own backup to the parent's Google account; this backup is run and encrypted by Google and controlled in the phone's settings.
2. Online backup (families with a plan)
When a plan is active, the app saves a copy of the profiles, practice results and settings on our server a few seconds after each practice. This lets the family bring progress to a new phone. The copy is compressed and sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). It is linked only to random numbers made by the app, not to a name, email or Google account.
Parents can delete the online copy at any time in Parent area > Progress backup > Delete online copy, or by email (see Delete your data).
3. One plan, one phone
A plan works on one phone at a time. To do this, the app makes a random install number when it is first opened. It is not a hardware or advertising identifier, and it changes if the app is reinstalled. When a plan is used, the app sends this number, a random family number and the Google Play purchase token to our server. The server asks Google Play whether the plan is paid and active, and remembers which phone is using it. We store a one-way hash of the purchase token, never the token itself.
4. Payments
Plans are bought and managed in Google Play. Google handles the payment and shares with us order details such as the order number, plan, price, date and country. We never receive card, UPI or bank details. Google's privacy policy applies to payments: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Ads during the free period
From day 1 to day 14, families without a plan see ads from Google AdMob on the home and results screens, never during practice. Every ad request is tagged as child-directed and limited to G-rated (general audience) content. The advertising ID is not sent, and ads are not personalised or based on the child's behaviour. To deliver an ad and prevent fraud, Google receives technical information such as the IP address, device type, app version, whether an ad was seen or tapped, and an app-specific ID that Google uses to prevent fraud. Parents can remove ads by buying a plan. Learn how Google uses information from apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. Crash reports
If the app crashes, Google Play may send us a crash report from phones whose owners chose to share usage and diagnostics data with Google. These reports contain technical details (phone model, Android version, app version and where in the code the crash happened), not names or practice results. See Crash reporting for details.
7. Why we use information
We use information only to run the app: show progress, keep streaks, check plans, keep a plan on one phone, restore progress on a new phone, show child-safe ads in the free period, fix bugs and answer support emails. We do not use children's information for advertising, profiling or marketing, and we do not contact children.
8. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade information. We use these service providers, who process information only on our instructions:
| Provider | What it does | Information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Google Play, Play Console) | Payments, plan status, app delivery, crash reports | Purchase and order details, crash reports |
| Google (AdMob) | Child-safe ads in the free period | Technical ad-request information (no advertising ID) |
| Cloudflare | Hosts our plan server and online backups | Random install and family numbers, hashed purchase token, online backup |
We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of a child or others, or as part of a sale or merger of our business (the new owner must follow this policy).
9. Where information is stored
Our server runs on Cloudflare's network, which has data centres in many countries, including India. Information may be processed outside your country. We protect it the same way wherever it is.
10. How long we keep it
- On the phone: until deleted in the app or the app is uninstalled.
- Online backup, install and family numbers, hashed purchase tokens: until the parent deletes them, and in any case 400 days after the plan ends. We keep them for 400 days so a family that comes back can restore progress.
- Our own error reports (if used): 90 days.
- Support emails: 24 months after the last message.
- Order records in Google Play Console: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
11. Security
All connections to our server use HTTPS. Purchase tokens are stored only as one-way hashes. The online backup can be saved or opened only by the phone that holds the active plan. Access to our systems is limited to AeroFluxStudio and protected with strong passwords and two-step verification. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
12. Your choices and rights
Parents can see, change and delete their children's profiles in the app at any time (Parent area > Children). You can also ask us to: tell you what we hold, correct it, delete it, stop using it, or name a person to act for you. Depending on where you live, laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or the GDPR give you these rights. Write to support@aerofluxstudio.xyz; we reply within 30 days. We do not charge for this.
13. Children
The app is designed for children and follows Google Play's Families Policies. Purchases, links outside the app and settings are behind a parent check. See Children's privacy for more.
14. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell parents in the app before the change applies.
15. Contact
